Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing or using Translator ("the Service", "we", "our"), you ("you", "user") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of the Service
Translator is a personal, non-commercial software tool that takes a publicly accessible TikTok video URL provided by you and produces a dubbed version of that video in one or more languages by transcribing, translating, and re-synthesising the audio using third-party AI providers. The dubbed file can be uploaded to your own TikTok Drafts inbox via the official TikTok Content Posting API.
3. Eligibility and account
You must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of any credentials, API keys, or OAuth tokens you connect to the Service. You must comply with the TikTok Terms of Service (https://www.tiktok.com/legal/terms-of-service) at all times while using Translator.
4. Permitted use
You may use Translator only with TikTok videos that you own or for which you have obtained all rights, permissions, and licences required to reproduce, translate, and re-publish them. You are solely responsible for the content you process through the Service and for the resulting dubbed videos.
5. Prohibited uses
You agree not to use the Service to:
- process content you do not own or have a licence to use;
- create content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, harassing, sexually explicit, hateful, or that targets minors;
- impersonate any person or misrepresent the origin of dubbed audio;
- generate synthetic voices of real persons without their explicit consent;
- circumvent TikTok's platform safeguards or violate the TikTok Community Guidelines;
- reverse engineer, resell, or commercialise the Service;
- upload malware or attempt to disrupt the Service or its providers.
6. Third-party services
Translator relies on third-party APIs operated by TikTok, OpenAI, ElevenLabs, and Supabase. Your use of the Service is also governed by the terms of those providers. We are not responsible for outages, limitations, or policy changes by these third parties.
7. Intellectual property
You retain all rights to the videos and content you submit. You grant Translator a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to process that content solely for the purpose of producing the dubbed output you request. The Service software itself, including its code and design, remains the property of its author.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of translations, or non-infringement. Translations and synthetic voices are generated by AI and may contain errors.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the author of Translator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Total aggregate liability is limited to one hundred United States dollars (USD 100).
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the author of Translator from any claim, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your breach of these Terms.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and disconnect your TikTok account from the Service settings. We may suspend or terminate access at any time, with or without notice, including if we believe you have violated these Terms.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Romania.
